FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Welcome to our Pilates and wellbeing studio! We’re here to help you feel confident and informed as you embark on your wellness journey. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out!
1. What is Pilates?
Pilates is a mindful movement practice that strengthens and lengthens the body from the inside out. Through focused breath and precise control, it activates the deep core and stabilising muscles, creating balance, alignment, and inner awareness. It’s more than exercise — it’s a way to move with intention, grace, and connection to self.
2. Do I need prior experience to join a class?
Not at all. Pilates welcomes everybody — whether you’re just beginning or have years of experience. Each movement can be tailored to your unique needs and energy level. Classes are guided with mindfulness and support, allowing you to build strength, awareness, and confidence at your own pace. All you need to bring is an open mind, your breath, and the willingness to connect with yourself.
3. What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely and stay connected to your body. For safety and stability, grip socks are required during class — they help prevent slipping and support proper alignment.
If you don’t have a pair, grip socks are available for purchase at our reception. Choose clothing that helps you feel supported, grounded, and ready to move with intention.
4. Do I need to bring any equipment?
No need to bring any equipment — everything you need is provided in the studio. Just bring your grip socks and an open heart. We’ll take care of the rest, creating a space where you can move, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
5. How do I know which class is right for me?
If you’re new to Pilates, we offer a Beginner’s Class once a week to help you build a strong foundation and feel confident in your movements. But don’t worry if you can’t make that session — all of our classes are layered, offering variations from beginner to advanced. You’re always encouraged to move at your own pace and choose the level that feels best for your body, your breath, and your energy that day.
6. Can I attend a class if I have an injury or medical condition?
Pilates can be therapeutic, but it's essential to consult with your doctor before starting any exercise program if you have an injury or medical condition. Please inform our instructors about any concerns or limitations, and they will offer modifications to ensure you practice safely and effectively.
7. How often should I practice Pilates?
For the best results, we recommend practicing Pilates at least 2-3 times a week. Consistency is key to building strength, flexibility, and improving overall body awareness. However, your personal goals and schedule will guide how often you attend classes.
8. What is the difference between mat Pilates and reformer Pilates?
Mat Pilates uses your body weight, gravity, and breath to build strength, stability, and deep core awareness. It focuses on precise control and flow, helping you move with grace and intention.
Reformer Pilates uses a specialised machine with springs and pulleys to add gentle resistance and support. This allows for a greater range of motion, deeper muscle engagement, and enhanced alignment.
Both practices share the same mindful foundation — connecting movement, breath, and inner awareness — simply expressed through different pathways to balance and strength.
9. How do I sign up for a class?
You can sign up for classes directly through our website or app, with easy online booking for your convenience. If you prefer a more personal touch, feel free to pop into the studio to see when the next available spot is. Please note that availability can vary, and spots aren’t guaranteed — so we recommend booking ahead when possible.
Our team is always happy to assist you with any questions or to guide you through the booking process.
10. What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that life happens! To cancel a class, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee. If you’re on a waitlist, you’ll be notified automatically if a spot becomes available. Be sure to book early to secure your preferred class time.
11. Do you offer private sessions?
Yes, we do. Private Pilates sessions offer personalised guidance tailored to your body, goals, and energy. These one-on-one sessions help you move with deeper awareness, refine your technique, and strengthen the connection between body and breath.
You can book a private session online, or contact our team or reception — we’ll be happy to help you find a time that aligns with your schedule and your practice..
12. Are there any membership options or packages?
Yes, we offer flexible membership options, class packages, and drop-in rates to fit your schedule and budget. Whether you want to commit to regular practice or just drop in when it suits you, we’ve got a plan that works for you. Check our website or contact our studio for more details on pricing and packages.

Yes — we kindly ask all clients to honour the studio as a calm and mindful space. Please arrive 5–10 minutes before class to settle in, center your energy, and prepare for your practice. Grip socks are required for safety and hygiene.
